Sat Mar 26 2011 10:00 AM -- SOLV Spring 2011 Beach Cleanup | SOLV has scheduled their 27th annual Spring Beach Cleanup for Saturday, March 26, 2011. CoastWatchers, of course, help to pick up litter on their miles year-round, but this is an opportunity to join with thousands of other Oregonians in a concerted effort to remove debris.
In part coordinated with Oregon State Parks and other sponsors, the Cleanup will be conducted at 150 statewide locations, generally from 10:00 to 1:00. Volunteer coordinators will be onsite to provide a safety orientation and hand out gloves and trash bags. • Bring drinking water and a reusable bag or bucket to cut down on the number of plastic bags we use • Bring an old colander to sift the tide lines for small bits of trash • Please dress for Oregon weather • Carpool if you can • Please avoid Western Snowy Plover habitat. Stay outside of roped areas, and keep your pets leashed.
