MILE 338 on 6/27/12   -   RANDY AND BETH LOCATION Clatsop  •  Clatsop Spit, Jetty Lagoon, Fort Stevens SP CONDITIONS Wednesday 1:30 PM  •  Sunny  •  68° F  •  Wind: Calm/Light from the SW  •  Tide: 1.1 ft HUMANS People: 25  •  Dogs: 4 ACTIVITIES Walking/running: 3  •  Playing in surf: 6  •  Playing in sand: 10  •  Sitting: 4  •  Surfing: 2 CONCERNS DISTURBANCES VEHICLES Cars/Trucks parking: 15  •  Cars/Trucks on beach, allowed: 1 ACTIV.COMMENTS There were five horse trailers at the beach access point and horses on the beach. Several families sitting/playing in sand. NOTABLE WILDLIFE Cormorants were in abundance today and a few seagulls DEAD BIRDS STRANDED FISH & INVERTS There was a large carcass of a fish--probably a sturgeon DRIFTLINE Animal casings NEW DEVELOPMENT MODIFICATIONS NATURAL CHANGES COMMENTS SUMMARY A very sunny day with lots of human and horse activity on our beach mile. We picked up styrofoam on our way back at the high tide line, but filled our large garbage bag fairly quickly and will need to go back again soon.
