SUMMARYWarm and sunny day on the beach to enjoy the coast and people watch. Groups and individuals enjoyed a beautiful beach day. Volleyball, sand castle building, photography, rock hounding, sunbathing, guitar playing. The beach was remarkably free of any garbage or large debris. We are wondering if the tsunami has brought out more people than in the past to hunt debris and litter. The rocky beach at the south end was covered in sea vegetation from the low tide. One home continues to be under construction at the north end of Mile 234 (Lat: 44:51;22.149 Long: 124:2; 47.64 Alt 415). The foundation structure is standing, along with a newly made make shift beach access plank. Planted beside the plank in the sand are two large concrete piers. Fishing Rock continues to change, and the State has moved the entrance barricade farther into the site and has blocked old trails with debris and enlarged safer trails. Wood chips make the trails easy to follow. New fences are being constructed as the sides of the site erode. On this day I did not encounter any other people on the top of the rock. In the past I've reported people fishing from it. The Surfrider Inn part of the beach is heavily used, and I like to include a shot of it on occasion.
