Oregon Shores Appeals Extension of Plan for SOCC Brookings Campus
In May of 2007, U.S. Borax donated ten acres to Southwestern Oregon Community College (SOCC) for a new campus in Brookings. However, there have been many delays in the planning process. The College submitted the required Detailed Development Plan (DDP) to the City of Brookings, but the College and the City have both requested longer periods for public testimony. Currently, the Brookings City Council is set to decide on approval of the DDP sometime after February 25, 2009. The exact date for the decision has not yet been set.
